Building a company, creating a product, becoming a better leader, or developing a career are all important parts of our lives, but none of them exist in isolation. At different moments, we may need technical expertise, business experience, a different perspective on our work, help with communication and leadership, or simply someone who can help us see ourselves and our possibilities more clearly.
Trood Mentors brings remarkable people from different fields together with the Trood Community, so that our members can learn directly from people whose experience, knowledge, and way of thinking can help them move forward.
Beyond technology and business
Trood started from technology, and much of what we do is still about helping people build better products, companies, and careers. But we don’t believe human potential can be reduced to professional skills.
That’s why our mentors come from a much wider range of fields, including technology, entrepreneurship, science, leadership, communication, personal development, and consciousness.
You might come to a mentor with a product question, a difficult business decision, or a challenge in your engineering career. You might instead be looking for a new perspective on leadership, your relationships, your energy, your sense of purpose, or the way you experience yourself and the world.
All of these things influence how we create, lead, and live, and sometimes the most valuable person to talk to is someone who approaches the problem from a completely different direction.
Experience is meant to be shared
The people we call mentors are not here simply because they have impressive titles or long résumés. We look for people with something genuinely valuable to share: hard-won experience, unusual expertise, a distinctive way of thinking, or a perspective that can open a new door for someone else.
A conversation might help you solve an immediate problem, but it can also change the way you look at a much larger part of your life or work. We want to make more of those conversations possible.
From conversations to a growing body of knowledge
Mentorship doesn’t have to begin or end with a one-to-one consultation. Through Trood Bites, our mentors are also sharing short pieces of practical knowledge, ideas, experiences, and perspectives with the wider community.
Over time, we hope this becomes a living library built by remarkable people from many different fields, where you can discover an idea, go deeper through a Bite, and then continue the conversation directly with the person behind it.
A community of remarkable people
We’re starting with a small group of people we genuinely admire and will keep expanding the network as we discover others who have something meaningful to contribute.
And if you’re one of those people, you don’t need to fit a particular professional category to become a Trood Mentor. If you’ve built something remarkable, learned something the hard way, developed an unusual perspective, or simply have something valuable that could help another person grow, we’d love to hear from you.
